They are out. This year is as good or better than 2008 which was called “The best wildflower season in 30 years”. This year is even better. Two weeks ago there were only a few poppies and lupines to be found. Now there are fields of yellow and blue so large you can see them a mile away. The perry penstemon are in full bloom and the globemallows are starting to show their colors.
It rained again most of the day yesterday. These rains will extend the season and as the cactus join the show the desert will be filled with color for the next 3 months.
