Poppies brighten the days of spring all around Arizona
They are out. This year is as good or better than 2008 which was called “The best wildflower season in 30 years”. This year is even better.
The experts thought the rains came to late to germinate the annuals. The annuals thought otherwise, they are out in abundance. And the hills are beautiful.
When it cools down here in the desert during the winter months we can grow some really nice flowers. During the hot summer months we are limited to outdoor flora (cactus). There are more flowers than just cactus flowers in the summer, but you get the idea.
The Palo Verde tree’s green bark makes a nice background for Mexican Poppies.
